Managing Director’s New Year greeting

The following is a summary of the New Year’s greeting to employees by Global Sky Group’s Managing Director, Ko Nagata.

“With the arrival of 2020, a new decade has begun. The US-China trade friction and geopolitical risks are causing volatility in the global economy, but the changes in globalisation, digitalisation, and consumer behaviour are changing social and economic structures.

For Global Sky Group, which is in the final year of its third medium-term management plan, we will continue to improve our business management system that we implemented last year. Rather than increasing operations we will focus on business development to generate increased cash flow and profit.
To that end, we will maintaining our customer base and reputation by providing products and services with high customer satisfaction through experience-based services, pursuing “QGC” (quality, global standard, creativity) through our services.

I would like to ask you to perform your KPIs to improve productivity while working together as a group. I would especially like you to focus on achieving results.

The following is a summary of our plans this year for each business group.

Global Sky Education Group (GSEG) is a lifelong educational solutions company that provides learning experiences and we will focus on designing learning based on the concept of “Play and Learn.”

We will improve the educational level of our early learning centres in Australia, improve the occupancy rate, raise tuition fees, and monetise our domestic training solution business.

Wind Engineering Center, a leading company in wind tunnel test equipment and experimental models, will refine its technological and product development capabilities based on the theme of environmental sustainability, conducting experiments and research in the field of sports science as well as urban structures.

In addition to the construction business, we will seek new capital and business alliances to create a third pillar of business for the company. We will also continue our efforts from last year in pursuing many model projects and large wind tunnel projects.

In the restaurant business, we will focus on providing dining experiences at our four eateries in Tokyo and Honolulu with a high level of hospitality, taking advantage of our regional themes.

In the wine business too, we will rebuild our business with the aim of providing wine experiences.

Having given you an overview of our plans for this year, we also hope that this year’s zodiac symbol, the year of the rat, is a symbol of prosperity. We would like to make it a year that forms the cornerstone of the next 10 years.

Specifically, this will be a year in which we will establish a profit base towards 2030, formulate a long-term vision, and become a creative group with sustainable operations.

We will continue our business activities based on SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and ESG (Environment, Society, Governance), which have become a global trend, while always keeping in mind our group philosophy of “Connecting the world for a brighter future.” This is based on our CLEAR vision (“customer-oriented,” “long-term view,” “ethical”, “advanced ideas,” and “respecting people and nature”).

Finally, please take care of your health and safety during your daily work.
