Managing Director’s New Year greeting

The following is a summary of the New Year’s greeting to employees by Global Sky Group’s Managing Director, Ko Nagata.

Last year (2013) was a memorable year when the group management structure of the Global Sky Group was established.

Based in Japan and Queensland, Australia, our group comprises an environmental engineering business that solves environmental and energy problems relating to buildings and other areas, as well as a regional development company that develops and operates community hubs such as childcare centres and business facilities.

This year will be a year to expand and deepen these two core businesses.

Concerning Wind Engineering Center, which is in charge of the environmental engineering business, we will work on its clean energy business as the third pillar, in addition to its current model and wind tunnel business.

In particular, the smart grid system “ECONetwork”, which VPEC Co. (currently the Wind Technology Center) has been working on, has great potential. We will also look to solve a number of issues regarding system design, construction, operation and maintenance.

We will also bring together knowledge about the shapes and living conditions of cities and buildings that we have cultivated by the Wind Technology Center, as well as our technical capabilities related to machinery and electricity, and put them into the market as saleable products.

Furthermore, the group will promote active business and capital tie-ups with environmental and energy related businesses.

In our community business, we will continue to develop residential land in Australia, aiming to achieve high occupancy rates for our business centres and childcare centres in Japan and Australia, with the goal of establishing multiple such locations in the future.

In addition to conducting further research regarding such centres, we plan to fully develop our education and training business and wellness business.

I would like to outline my expectations to all members of our group.

Last year was a year of “challenge” such as building a group management structure and entering into new businesses.

This year, I would like you to make the two core businesses stronger and rev up their horsepower to gain more business.

Also, as I always say, please keep in mind when performing your work the “three eyes” comprising horse eyes – having a wide field of view; insect eyes – looking closely; and fish eyes – looking at the changing of the tide.

Lastly, please always consider the group’s philosophy of “connecting the world for a brighter future,” with our CLEAR vision of “Customer-oriented,” “Long-term view,” “Ethical,” “Advanced ideas” and “Respecting people and nature.”
